Treat Your Kids to the San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium

Kids of all ages will love a trip to the San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium. Open from 9 until 5, 365 days a year, regardless of the weather, the zoo is home to literally thousands of animals of hundreds of different species. Spread across 56 acres of land, the zoo is a fantastic way to spend a day with your kids, who will be entertained, amused and educated by the countless fascinating animals they discover. Whether your children are interested in mammals, reptiles, amphibians or something else entirely, there’ll be plenty of exhibits to ensure that they have the time of their lives at the San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium.

The zoo is one of the most reputable establishments in the entire US, dedicated to various conservation projects and focused on providing an enjoyable attraction for visitors while keeping the animals happy and healthy yearlong. Visitors can roam around the park at their leisure, taking in the sights and sounds of animals from all over the world. Complete with various attractions like the Zoo Train and Zootennial Carousel, the park offers a vast array of activities to make your experience unique and memorable.

There’s a big focus on interactivity at the San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium that kids in particular will really enjoy. Every single day, various up close and personal encounters are available with various animals and their keepers. Children can see the animals like never before in these unique encounters and learn about the ways they live and eat with talks from the keepers. There’s even a very popular butterfly garden where guests can take a walk through a greenhouse and observe these beautiful insects flying around.

In addition, the zoo offers an incredible attraction called Lory Landing. Here, visitors can purchase cups of nectar and directly feed the various species of colorful lorikeets that love to meet new people. These birds are inquisitive and friendly by nature and will enjoy posing on your child’s head to eat some nectar: a one-of-a-kind experience. Naturally, the big predators and other animals will be in their own enclosures, but visitors can enjoy spectacular views of these majestic animals in their own personal environments.

As one of the first “cageless” zoos to ever appear in the entire US, the San Antonio Zoo has earned plenty of awards for its conservation efforts and the quality of life it provides for its resident animals. This is certainly a zoo well-worth supporting and visitors young and old will enjoy a great day out at any time of year. There are even various special events and runs being held at the zoo throughout the year, so be sure to check out the calendar if you’d like to take part in something extra special.

The San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium is a great way to get in touch with nature and learn more about the fascinating species that live all around the globe. So treat your kids to a trip and you surely won’t regret it.
