The Traditional Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade
Chicago's 60th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade 2015 will be held on Saturday, March 14th. It all begins at 9:00 a.m. at the Chicago River with the dyeing ceremony when the entire river is dyed emerald green. The actual parade will begin at noon and will run along Columbus Drive between Balbo Drive and Monroe Street, proceeding north along Columbus River with the viewing stand in front of the Buckingham Fountain where the parade will be broadcast on ABC-Channel 7.
It is sponsored by the Chicago Plumbers Local 130 U.A. Jim Coyne is the General Chairman of the parade as well as Business Manager of the Plumbers Local 130 UA. The Grand Marshall is William P. Hite who is the General President of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, represented by 370,000 members in skilled piping trades in the U.S., as well as Canada and Australia. He is dedicated to increasing the nation's competitiveness in the manufacturing and energy sectors.
Guests of Honor this year will be the Chicago Fire Department Local 2, and the Chicago Police Department Lodge #7 of the Fraternal Order of Police.
