Start a New Christmas Tradition in San Antonio

San Antonio’s River Walk is one of the must-see destinations in the United States! It is a public park that hosts a multitude of events year round. Now is the time to be planning for a holiday trip. Christmastime down south is the time to enjoy the River Walk.

The Ford Holiday Boat Caroling is a nightly event from December 5, 2014 through December 21, 2014. Every night the boats will float through the River Walk park carrying caroling passengers! There is no other Christmas Caroling event like it in the nation. The San Antonio River Walk is filled with carolers as over 185 different groups sing traditional carols on cruising boats. Caroling by a variety of groups will entertain and lift your Christmas spirit to a whole new level. You might see a Latino ensemble, a bell choir, a folk group, or a church choir singing a variety of carols.

The event is free and open to the public! The event begins at 6:15 p.m. and ends promptly at 9:15 p.m. There are over 100,000 Christmas lights so the night is not only festive, it is beautifully lit! If you want to be a part of the caroling fun, bring a group of 20 of your closest friends or family and rent a barge! The fee for barge rental is $125 on Sundays through Thursdays, and costs only $150 for the premium weekend nights. This would be a great way to spend a part of the holiday season, sharing the Christmas cheer with others. It will be a Christmas memory that your children will remember for a lifetime! As the carolers go by, you can sing along with them on the patio of the River Walk restaurants. Whether you participate in the sing along on the patio or on a barge, either way, your trip to San Antonio will be one you never forget!

So, make your plans now to make a memory at the Ford Holiday Boat Caroling this Christmas season. Chances are that you may start a new Christmas tradition with a yearly trip to San Antonio. It is listed as number one on Southern Living's Best Southern Christmas Vacations list!
