Spend Valentine's in the City of Brotherly Love

The fifth most populous city in the United States was appropriately named Philadelphia by William Penn. Penn named the city after the Greek words for love (phileo) and brother (adelphos). The city has been labeled the City of Brotherly Love. What better place to spend Valentine's than in the City of Brotherly Love? The following hotel selections with world class dining facilities will prove to be the perfect romantic setting for a Valentine weekend getaway.

  • Hotel Monaco, A Kimpton Hotel: The four star amenities of the hotel promise to pamper guests in luxury. The hotel is located in Center City Philadelphia near the historical sites of Philadelphia’s revolutionary past. After registering and settling into one of the spacious spa suites, guests may want to relax with a bath in a vintage soaking tub. The budget minded guest might prefer one of the trendy boutique style guest rooms that are well appointed with 300 thread count Frette linens. Prepare to enjoy a glass of red or white wine in the hotel lobby between the hours of 5 and 6 p.m. each day. The Red Owl Tavern adjoining Hotel Monaco invites guests to dine on seasonal comfort foods.
  • Sofitel Philadelphia Hotel: The elegant French inspired hotel is conveniently located in the middle of the downtown district. All 306 designer rooms and 67 suites contain a feather top and duvet sleep system by SoBed to assure guests sleep well and awake refreshed. Guests need not leave the hotel for a fine dining experience in the Liberte Urban Chic Lounge. The Duck Breast and Atlantic Salmon are popular dishes at the restaurant prepared under the leadership of French trained Chef Justin Perdue.
  • The Independent Hotel: The hotel is decorated with the distinct charm that exemplifies the City of Brotherly Love. The Georgian Revival architecture has been completely restored. The hotel is walking distance to many historical landmarks and shops. Each guest room and suite is beautifully decorated with traditional Philadelphia touches. The custom bedding by Robert Allen assures guests of a good night’s sleep. The hotel staff prepares and delivers a complimentary continental breakfast basket to guest rooms each morning. Located on the ground floor of the hotel is a restaurant that embodies the spirit of Italy, Little Nonna’s. Lunch and dinner is served family style.
