Scintillating Santa Barbara International Film Festival in Los Angeles
Cinema Society (CS) has been serving the community and cinema since its inception. This year, Cinema Society presents its 30th annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Santa Barbara International Film Festival was established in 1998. SBIFF offers a broad range of special events and screenings, seminars and interactions with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
This year Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) will present a sequence of educational seminars from prominent industry insiders and filmmakers. These seminars are completely free to the public and will happen at the UGG Pavilion for six days beginning January 29. After January 30, the sessions start again on February 1 for four consecutive days. These seminars will happen at 11:00 am on these six days.
As the name indicates, the international film festival will screen a vast array of films representing 54 countries. Past screenings of the SBIFF includes Above and Beyond, the Dance of reality, the Babadook and so on.
What can you expect from the event
The Santa Barbara International Film Festival honors best filmmakers, actors, and actresses with awards during the annual event. Some of the prestigious awards include Cinema Vanguard Award, Virtuosos Award, Montecito Award, Outstanding Performer of the Year Award, Outstanding Director of the year tribute, Attenborough Award and Modern Master Award. The festival also offers panel debates with directors, producers, and writers.
Past year winners of the SBIFF Outstanding Performer of the Year Award include modern icons like Jennifer Lawrence and Ben Affleck. Every year, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival takes place at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara.
