Experience the Space Needle
An observation tower was built for the 1962 World’s Fair near the landmark of Pacific Northwest in Seattle, which is known as the Seattle Space Needle. The Space Needle attracted over 2.3 million visitors out of which only 20,000 used its elevators. It is one of the tallest structures located west of the Mississippi River.
The height of the Space Needle is about 184 meters, it is 42 meters wide and has a weight of about 9,550 tons. The construction of the structure is so strong that it can resist wind with speeds up to 322 kilometer per hour and an earthquake of 9.1 radius due to the 25 lightning rods present in the structure. The Space Needle consists of an observation deck which is located at a height of 160 meters, and there is a SkyCity restaurant as well. There are a number of sights that can be viewed from the observation deck, which are:

SkyCity restaurant is located at a height of 150 meters and is capable of facilitating up to 10 parties at a time. The restaurant can be booked 90 days in advance, excluding the weekends. All the visitors are allowed to go to the observation deck for free if they are dining in the restaurant.
The staff at the SkyCity restaurant is always waiting for its guests to arrive, and after their arrival they are free to roam in the restaurant to enjoy their food while seeing the mesmerizing views of the city. The chefs at the SkyCity restaurant use the finest quality of beef from the local Northwest farms. The seafood is fresh from the water of Pacific Northwest which provides a very natural and unique taste.
Space Needle Timings
The Space Needle never sleeps, whether you want to view the sights in natural daylight or in the city lights of Seattle. The observation deck timings are from 8:00 am till 12:00 am from Monday till Sunday. The timings of SkyCity restaurant are:
- Brunch timings are from 9:30 am to 2:45 pm on Saturday and Sunday
- Lunch timings are from 11:00 am to 2:45 pm from Monday to Friday
- Dinner timings are from 5:00 pm to 9:45 pm from Monday to Sunday
Parking and Observation Deck Closure
The parking of the Space Needle is located at the base of the Seattle icon. Due to the arrival of so many guests, valet parking is a life saver and it is very convenient for the customers as the parking fee is almost similar to that of many parking lots in Washington.
The observation deck is open all year round, but is sometimes closed partially or fully to host special events or to celebrate prestigious holidays while sometimes also being closed for maintenance or facility upgrades.
