Delightful Holiday Entertainment at Historic Florida Theatre in Jacksonville

Audiences have been entertained by talented performers at the Florida Theatre in Jacksonville since 1927. The historic venue reopened in 1983 after major renovations in an effort to preserve the landmark structure. The progressive programming schedule entertains Northeast Florida audiences with Broadway, New York and Nashville level performances by musicians, singers and performers year round. This Christmas season, the theatre presents a delightful entertainment lineup.

A Peter White Christmas with Rick Braun and Mindi Abair: Peter White, Rick Braun and Mindi Abair spread some Christmas cheer with a festive contemporary jazz concert. The single performance is December 16th, 2014 only. The audience will be entertained by selections from the new Christmas CD. The world renown, Peter White, is an amazing acoustic guitarist. The vocal skills and saxophone talents of Mind Abair are a delight for fans of all ages. The gleeful trumpet and flugelhorn abilities of Rick Braun is icing on the Christmas cake. For the annual 11th performance, tickets may be purchased online.

Community Nutcracker: The grand production of the Community Nutcracker involves more than 200 children from Northeast Florida. Performances are December 12th and 13th, 2014. The enchanting ballet begins with two children, Fritz and Clara, excitedly awaiting the arrival of guests for a Christmas party. Godfather Drosselmeyer, the toymaker, presents the children with gifts. Clara is given a nutcracker that Fritz breaks out of jealousy. Clara wakes at midnight to find that all of the toys are life size. In addition, the nutcracker is trapped by the mouse king. Purchase a ticket to learn of the nutcracker’s fate.

Wynonna and the Big Noise, A Simpler Christmas: Ring in the Christmas season with holiday favorites from Wynonna and her band, the Big Noise. Don’t miss the single performance on December 14th, 2014 of this award winning singer. Count your blessings as you enjoy the commanding voice of Wynonna delight the audience with Christmas carols and a few of her greatest hits.
