Dazzling Scandinavian Film Festival 2015 in Los Angeles

Writers Guild of America Theater is a perfect and affordable option for supreme entertainment. The theater is host to local film events, including red carpet premieres, press screenings, and film festivals.

The Scandinavian Film Festival (SFFLA) is hosted at the WGA Theater in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. The film festival first entertained the audience in the year 2000. Since then, the festival has come a long way and has screened famous movies from the Nordic (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden) region.

Scandinavian Film Festival celebrates its 16th anniversary this year. The film festival (SFFLA) is made possible through the support of American Scandinavian Foundation of Los Angeles, the local Scandinavian Consulates, the Nordic Council of Ministers, the Nordic film institutes along with philanthropic private donors and organizations. The film festival strives to create an exposure to the film-making in Nordic region.

On the opening night, there is a gala buffet at 6:30 pm. The star attraction of the day is A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Contemplating Existence screening. The morning of Saturday January 17th begins with a delightful Norwegian documentary called The Optimists. The Optimists is about a small-town volleyball team comprised of women between 66 and 98 years old. The heartwarming comedy provides a different spin in ageing.

Tickets: The ticket price for each screening is $10. The event is free of charge for AMPAAS (Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences) members and full-time students. You can choose to spend time in finding a street parking in the Beverly Hills area or avail the WGA Theater parking for $5 per vehicle. I would personally recommend the WGA Theater parking.

Event Dates: January 17, 18, 24, and 25.

Event Location:

Writers Guild of America Theater,

135 South Doheny Drive,

Beverly Hills,

CA 90211.

Come and enjoy the annual film festival with your friends, and get a taste of Scandinavian culture.
