24th Annual Union Street Holiday Festival in San Francisco
Union Street in San Francisco is known for its great shopping and dining experiences at a location near to the Golden gate. Throughout the holiday season, Union Street will add lights to their buildings and trees in San Francisco’s Cow Hollow neighborhood, setting the stage for a magical Christmas. Beginning in 1990, the Union Street Holiday festival has been entertaining shoppers every year during November and December.
The month-long festival offers a great collection of entertainment and activities for children and families. Union Street Holiday festival is always highlighted by Christmas carols and an evening parade by children. During the festival, the shoppers extend their store hours to 9 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.
Holiday Elf Hunt:
Until December 13, there is a holiday elf hunt in some of the stores along the Union street. The participating merchants will be hiding a toy elf in their stores for people or visitors to discover. If the visitors find the holiday elf, they can write the store’s name on a card and submit the entry in a draw to win a $500 Visa gift card.
The horse drawn carriage offers a great holiday ride and unique view of the Union Street. You can bring in your new toys for the annual San Francisco Firefighters’ Toy program and participate in the season of giving. This is a month-long festival and a holiday traditional in San Francisco. You do not have to worry about parking, as event parking will be offered and shops will have long evening shopping hours. Holiday carols along Union Street will happen on December 20 in the courtyard of The Episcopal Church of St. Mary the Virgin at 1 PM.
