Celebrate Christmas Texas style in Houston this year! Texans believe that everything is bigger and better in Texas. Events in Houston this Christmas are sure to convince visitors that Texans are correct in this belief. Rumor has it that Santa plans a visit to scout the city of Houston for possible Northpole expansions.

Children’s Museum of Houston: Santa and his reindeer will greet families at the Children’s Museum of Houston on Sunday, December 21st, 2014 from 12:00 noon till 4:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring cameras for photos with Santa. Sorry, feeding or petting the reindeer is prohibited. Santa says that the reindeer must be in excellent health for the annual flight. The museum is located at 1500 Binz Street. Ensemble Theatre: The Ensemble Theatre is presenting The North Star, an Urban Nativity. The play is a contemporary rendering of the Biblical Nativity with a modern day Mary and Joseph. The couple takes shelter in a tenement building in Bethlehem. A criminal kingpin wishes to destroy all hope. A contemporary arrangement of, “We Three Kings” is sure to be a new Christmas favorite. Hobby Center for the Performing Arts: The Radio City Rockettes will be performing in Houston at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in December. The Rockettes will perform to spectacular Christmas music sure to entertain patrons of all ages. The dancers bring a bit of New York to Houston, while performing on a double decker bus. Several scenes from the Nutcracker are brought to life on stage along with a living nativity scene. The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is located at 800 Bagby Street. Houston Family Arts Center: Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol will be performed at the Houston Family Arts Center during the month of December. The timeless story is brought to life with a cast of 30 actors. Christmas past, present and future are portrayed in the retelling of the life story of Ebeneezer Scrooge. Patrons will be encouraged to review the past and select a brighter path for the future. The Houston Family Arts Center is located at 10760 Grant Road. Ticket information is available online.
