April Showers Bring May Flowers and Fun Activities

April showers have left behind gorgeous May flowers blooming this spring in Atlanta. Along with the array of gorgeous flowers, Atlanta delivers comfortable temperatures, which is perfect weather to enjoy the exciting activities planned for the month. To the amazement of citizens and visitors alike, Atlanta is packed with fun activities in May.

An Artistic Discovery: Congressman John Lewis’s Fifth Congressional District Annual Art Competition and Exhibition is located at the Atlanta-Fulton Central Library from May 3rd through May 28th, 2015. Visitors are invited to view artwork on display by talented high school students. Rules of the competition are located on the website.

Galaxy Guardians of the Avenged:  From April 16th through July 22nd, 2015, the city of Atlanta is proud to announce, “Marvelous Comics Presents: Galaxy Guardians of the Avenged,” at the Agatha’s “A Taste of Mystery” Dinner Theatre. Tony Snark of Snark Industries and his second in command, Pepper Pot Stickers, creates a robot that turns sinister. The crime fighting Galaxy Guardians must reassemble and save humanity. Georgia Aquarium:  The Georgia Aquarium presents Endangered Species Day from May 15th through May 17th, 2015. Visitors will participate in an endangered species hunt to learn how to protect our planet. Times, directions, tickets and further information are available on the Georgia Aquarium website.

MomoCon:  MomoCon, Animation, Gaming and Comic Convention is at the Georgia World Congress Center from May 28th through May 31st, 2015. Visitors may browse the exhibitors booths, participate in cosplay, dress in favorite character costumes and meet celebrities. Directions, reservations and further information are available online.

Zoo Atlanta:  Zoo Atlanta hosts Girl Scouts on Saturday, May 16th, 2015. Scouts may earn badges with animal encounters and other exciting activities. While supplies last each scout will receive a Zoo Atlanta Patch. Special discount pricing is available for all Girl Scouts on this day.
