Adventure Into the Wild at San Diego Zoo

“Such short little lives our pets have to spend with us, and they spend most of it waiting for us to come home each day. It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them,” as quoted by John Grogan, Marley and Me: Life and Love With the World's Worst Dog. San Diego is a haven for animal lovers with an awesome zoo to educate the public on the importance of animal conservation. Stuart Udall said, “Plans to protect air and water, wilderness and wildlife are in fact plans to protect man.” A visit to San Diego’s zoos and aquariums are sure to relax, inform and amaze visitors of all ages.

San Diego Zoo: Start the day off with an early morning panda tour. The tour starts before the zoo officially opens and allows visitors to view the pandas eating breakfast. The tour is highly recommended for visitors that may have a problem walking for long distances, as a cart shuttles visitors through the panda exhibit and a number of other animal exhibits. If you are a guest that enjoys sleeping late, there is plenty to see at the San Diego Zoo, including Tasmanian Devils. The reputation of the Tasmanian Devil is thought to be derived from a fierce temper and a screeching sound. Be sure to visit the Asian Snow Leopard and cuddly Australian Koala Bears!

San Diego Children's Zoo: Children are born with an interest to explore the world around them. The San Diego Children’s Zoo will assist parents to cultivate ecological values in young children that can last a lifetime. Located at 2000 Zoo Drive, Balboa Park in San Diego, the Children’s Zoo is a section of the large San Diego Zoo. The Absolutely Apes exhibit introduces the younger generation to the joy of apes. This section of the zoo contains over 30 exhibits specifically designed to appeal to the child in everyone. Children will enjoy a ride on the carousel or an expedition through the zoo on a miniature train.
