3 Recreational Camping Facilities Near the Bustling Metropolis of Hotlanta
Hotlanta is an urban term of endearment for the bustling metropolis of Atlanta, Georgia. Over many years, the Atlanta Convention Bureau popularized the term as a marketing tool to draw conventions and tourist organizations to Atlanta. Although Atlanta is a large metropolitan city, the surrounding suburbs contain remote camping facilities. The following three recreational camping facilities near the bustling metropolis of Hotlanta are sure to please the nature lover in everyone.
- Allatoona Landing Marine Resort and Campground: The resort and campground is conveniently located only 35 minutes from Hotlanta. The campground contains 116 sites for RV or tent camping. Campground amenities include a bath house with showers, cable, Wi-Fi access, general store, laundry facilities, playground, swimming pool and large recreation hall. The 12,000 surface acre lake is a paradise for water lovers including boating, fishing, jet skiing, sailing, swimming, wakeboarding and water skiing. The full service marina is complete with several available boat launch ramps.
- Atlanta Marietta RV Resort: The resort boasts 67 serene tree lined campsites with paved parking pads. Guests enjoy cooling off in the onsite swimming pool after a day of shopping, biking, boating or just relaxing. The resort is only a short 13 mile drive from theme parks, shopping and the sexy night life of Hotlanta. Resort amenities include a well stocked camp store, laundry facilities, full hook-ups, internet access, cable television and a safe family resort atmosphere.
- Chattahoochee Bend State Park: Chattahoochee Bend State Park campground contains a total of 52 camp sites, including one Adirondack camping site, seven riverside camping platforms, seven primitive paddle-in campsites, nine tent only campsites, 11 tent walk-in campsites and 24 RV campsites. Many events are scheduled throughout the year at the park. The campsites are snuggled in 2,710 acres of serene wilderness. The Adirondack group camping site contains four screened shelters surrounding a fire pit. Hikers will enjoy nearly six miles of trails. Canoes and kayaks are available for rent. Guests may view the river and forest from an observation platform. Fishing from the river is permitted. Amenities include bathhouses with hot showers and picnic shelters.
