2015 Georgia Renaissance Festival in Atlanta
The Georgia Renaissance Festival is an outdoor drama set in a 16th century European village. In addition to the drama, circus performers entertain visitors. Visitors dressed as knights just might become acquainted with a fair maiden at the festival. Guests enjoy shopping for arts and crafts from quaint cottages. Pubs and restaurants are filled with fish and chips, meat pies, sandwiches, shish kabobs and other tasty delights. First time visitors must try the smoked turkey legs weighing about 1.5 pounds.
The 16th century European village is known as Newcastle. Village people are prepared with jokes and tales to delight guests. Minstrels fill the village with music while strolling along the paths. Newcastle contains ten stages with continuous entertainment throughout the village. Jousting tournaments, sword swallowers, acrobats, dancers, jugglers, and magicians thrill festival visitors throughout each day. Weavers, spinners, glass blowers and other artisans educate visitors to 16th century careers. All shop keepers and entertainers are dressed in period costumes. Children and the child at heart will enjoy the rock climbing wall, haunted ship, rides and other activities.
